My Current Sewing Plans!

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! I know I haven’t done these posts in a while, but I’m getting back into the swing of things! So I just came back from LA and my personal vacation, and I’m ready to sew!!

If you’re anything like me, you always have “sewing plans” but they never actually become plans until later. I’m all over the place, but when I try to plan things, everything kind of falls into place. However, sewing is completely separate. I am, however, creating this plan and sticking to it! So currently these beautiful patterns are on my sewing table!

1.) McCall’s 7634

M7634 | McCall's Patterns

When I first saw this pattern, I screamed! This pattern is to die for! I love the lace up detail and I love the dress option! Im a sucker for sportswear and athleisure, so this pattern was a score!

2.) McCall’s 7621

M7621 | McCall's Patterns

Now this dress I probably could just self-draft it, but it’s always nice to have a simple bodycon dress pattern in your stash. I definitely see a modified version of this dress for my upcoming S/S 18′ collection😉.

3.) McCall’s 7596

M7596 | McCall's Patterns

I am super obsessed with this pattern! I’ve been looking everywhere for the perfect caftan dress pattern, and this is the winner! View D will be the 1st one I make from this pattern. I cannot wait to cut into this bad boy!

4.) Vogue 1548

V1548 | Vogue Patterns

What’s so funny about this pattern is that I would have never picked it out in my 7 years of sewing. However, what sold me on this pattern was the shape and the detachable overlay collar. The detailing on this dress is a winner. This will be my first advanced pattern from Vogue, so when I create this dress, I will definitely blog about it! Im very excited to start this pattern!

5.) Simplicity 8380

Simplicity Pattern 8380 Misses' Knit Dress or Top

Normally patterns like these I don’t get because I don’t care for them. But, when I saw Momma Mimi do a DIY on this dress, I was completely sold. Check out her post here. I have the perfect fabric for this dress and I’m very excited to use it.

So as you all can see, I have quite a lot on my sewing table. Once these garments are made, I will be sure to post a full pattern review. If you all have sewn these pieces already please share your experiences in the comment section.

Xposure Collection Release Date!

Hello lovelies! As we arrive closer and closer to the Fall Season, it was no shock that I would be creating a fall collection. My collection will be released at the Fashion Fest fashion show at the University of Memphis. 10/3/16 Mark it in your calendars! The name of my collection is called Xposure. The concept behind this collection to embrace our natural selves. It’s also inspired by RnB sensual love-making music. To feel sexy is a great thing, but feeling sexy in almost nothing is better. When you can accept yourself for who you truly are says a lot about a person. Accept yourself for your imperfections, deformities, etc. RnB can help bring this out for a lot of people. Think back to the strip teases. What are they often dancing to? RnB songs. Songs by DruHill, New edition, SWV, Chris Brown, etc. Free yourselves my lovelies!!!! Love thyself!

You cannot fully love someone, without loving your self first!

What’s On My Sewing Table?

Hello loves! Happy Saturday (:

So today is a day full of wonderful sewing projects. I just recently went back to college to finish out my senior year, which means little time for sewing. As I was settling into my new room, I stumbled upon my new and old patterns. I need to get back on my grind and get to sewing. I was so inspired just by my pattern collection lol. Am I the only seamstress that does that? Gets inspired by her pattern collection?? Lol, any who let’s get started with sewing what’s on my sewing table?

M7443: Misses Tunic & Pants

The first pattern on my table today is this beautiful Beaute J’Adore pattern. i am thinking about transforming this top into something that is more of a Fall look. I cannot wait to start this one. Isn’t it such a beautiful design?

simplicity-sportswear-pattern-8177-envelope-frontS8177: Pants, Coat or Vest, and Knit Top for Miss and Plus Sizes

Okay so this is clearly a no-brainer. Anything that’s Mimi’s I am clearly going to get regardless. So first off, I love the duster. Dusters are a must have piece for the fall/winter seasons. I feel like they can be worn every single fall season. It’s a great transitional piece. Next off, who doesn’t love a good flare?? I feel like these pants are just amazing! The only thing I don’t like about the pants is the extra piece on the waist. I don’t know, I’m just not feeling it. But other than that, this is a great pattern. I have the perfect mustard fabric for the pants though. Super excited.

S8222: Misses Knit Jacket & Stretch Jeans

Okay this is a no-brianer as well. I love love love this bomber she designed. The one thing that stood out to me is the detailing behind this bomber. I would definitely say that this is not a beginner pattern. But if your adventurous and up for a challenge, by all means go for it. It’s perfect for the fall I must say. And those jeans!! I mean seriously?? talk about a perfect fit right? Once I get started on these jeans, I will not buy another pair of jeans okay?

So far, that’s all what is on my table today. I am in the process of finishing my F/W 16′ Xposure Collection for the show, so I have a lot of work to do. Now that you know what’s on my future to-do list, share some of yours. What’s on your sewing table for this weekend?
